5th October 2011

Here at One Stop Mobiity we understand that you don’t buy a stairlift everyday and the buying process can be quite daunting especially as there are so many different products on the market today. We have put together some tips to help you make the right decision when choosing your stairlift supplier.

  • Write down all your questions before they visit and done be afraid to ask them.
  • Don’t allow cold caller sellers into your home
  • Make sure the representative carefully assesses your staircase, hall and you
  • Get an official written quotation for the entire cost of the stairlift, including installation, on company headed paper. Do not accept an estimate
  • Only ever pay the full price of the stairlift once it is fully fitted and tested and you are happy
  • Make sure you have an installation date on your quote
  • You may be exempt from paying VAT so make sure you ask the representative about whether or not you are eligible.
  • Check your stairlift comes with a comprehensive warranty
  • Check there is a 24 hour call service
  • Check what other after sales service they provide, ie do the offer warranty contracts after the initial warranty has expired or do the offer service contracts?
  • Make sure a company representative leaves a card with personal details in case you want to ask anything else.
