Our Buying a Stairlift Guide

14th June 2011

Here at One Stop Mobility we understand that buying a stairlift is not something most people do very often so it can be difficult to know you are making the right decision. At One Stop Mobility we’re dedicated to ensuring that every customer gets the stairlift that’s right for them and their home – so we’ve prepared this list to help you make the right choice.

1) Don’t buy one without a comprehensive warranty.

All our new stairlifts come with a 2 year warranty and our reconditioned stairlifts come with a 1 year warranty.

2) Don’t buy one unless the stairlift company has been  to measure your stairs

Staircases come in all shapes and sizes, so that’s why we always take the exact measurements of your staircase to ensure your stairlift fits perfectly.

3) Make sure it comes with a 24 hour call out service.

We are local company and we employ local engineers in the unlikely event of  something ever going wrong with your stairlift, we can reach you as fast as possible to get your stairlift up and running again.

4) Try before you buy.

It’s hard to tell how comfortable a stairlift is from a brochure. We think it’s much better to try one out in person, so we’ve placed a stairlift in our Mobility Shop. This means you can take one for a test run before deciding to have one fitted in your home.

5) Make sure you’re measured as well as your home.

Before fitting a stairlift, it’s important to take more than the measurement of your hallway. To ensure you get a stairlift that’s right for you, One Stop Mobility conduct a full risk and user assessment at each home. This means we take your measurements, as well as your staircase, to ensure that our product is right for both you and your home.
